Quayle Denounces Injunction; Sends Open Letter to Napolitano.
Phoenix, Ariz. (July 28, 2010) — Ben Quayle, running for Congress in the 3rd District of Arizona, released the following statement:
“Today, a federal judge issued a temporary injunction against enforcement of the primary provisions of SB 1070. This is an issue of public safety that is of vital importance to Arizona, and I hope and believe Governor Brewer will immediately appeal to the 9th Circuit.”
“Even if the injunction stands, we must argue the case on the merits and fight all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary. It is essential that we uphold the Constitution and our rights under the 10th Amendment against this latest assault from the Obama Administration. Regardless of the outcome of the lawsuit, the Federal Government must make border security a top priority in order to protect Arizona and our Country from the threat posed by drug cartels, human trafficking and terrorism. We need conservative leaders in Washington who are in touch with our values here in Arizona and will fight to protect this Country. That is why I am sending this letter to Secretary Napolitano urging her and the administration to secure the border and protect Arizona’s citizens from ruthless drug cartels once and for all.”
